Rev. Joyce M. Owens is the ordained minister of the Gospel and is the Lead Pastor and Founder, with her husband, Rev. Harry Owens-Assistant Pastor, of Abiding Faith Ministry, a non-denominational ministry where services are held on the West End of Pittsburgh. Revs. Joyce and Harry Owens have four children, fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Their passion is their love for God and for God's people; therefore according to God's Word, they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.
Graduates of the Willa M. Johnson School of Bible and Ministry, they have both taught various courses at the Bible School for more than fifteen years, with Rev. Joyce serving as the Retreat Coordinator from 1990-2005.
Rev. Owens has studied at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and the American Baptist Seminary. She also studied at the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (which is in partnership with Geneva College) and in May, 2012, she graduated with an Associates's Degree in Chrisitian Ministry from Geneva College. Rev. Owens has also completed the requirements for her Bachelor's Degree in Chrisitian Ministry at Geneva College under their Adult Degree Completion Program, which was held at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in the Point Breeze are of Pittsburgh, PA. She is scheduled to graduate in May of 2015.
Revs. Joyce and Harry Owens have equally served on the Board of Directors of Victorious Faith Evangelistic Outreach Ministry, a ministry whose goal is to reach the lost for Christ, from 1986 through 2010. They have also served on the Board of Directors of Morning Glory Outreach Ministry, a ministry who reaches out to prison inmates to help them to return to a normal way of life, as well as other boards and functions in the church.
Together, they share a vision of saving the lost by equipping believers for kingdom building, and they are dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with open arms to everyone they meet.
